Do you know that you are probably a specialist in some area that in reality could easily become a great money making idea?

My speciality is GOLF and particularly coaching the game. I have always had the desire to write a book on what I have learned and experienced throughout my career but have, until now, thought it was beyond me.

I mean, just where do you start?

I was also afraid that I did not have the knowledge or discipline to write 200-300 pages and that these pages would not be wise or interesting enough to be published.

Then a good friend suggested that I should firstly write a personal website and then later think about writing a book.

This switched on a little light bulb in my head and I decided to pursue the idea. Build it!

I bought a program for creating websites and went about writing and designing my new domain. It was a golf lesson site offering coaching packages for interested golfers.

Within a couple of months my site was up and running and I eagerly awaited an avalanche of would-be students contacting me.

After 3 months and absolutely no feedback from this site, I realised I must be missing something.

My money making idea was becoming very time consuming and the reason for its apparent failure at that time was not clear to me. I then surfed the internet and found a HTML program that could indicate how many visitors my site was receiving.

Well I'll be damned!

I had been online for all that time and had not received a single visitor to my well written pages.

I then investigated further and read many articles about optimising a website for search engines and about expensive web masters who could do this for me.

Through further research I also found many dissatisfied people who had used these services and hadn't experienced any significant rise in visitors or in the search engine rankings.

I have always wanted to be in control of such an endeavour and was starting to find that the whole thing was going way above my head.

This was only a hobby and I was not about to lay out the kind of fees these guys were looking for so I put the whole money making idea on hold.

However my desire to write a book or build a successful website was never far from my thoughts.

Then, one day I stumbled upon the following page which enabled me to understand the process of building a successful website.
